Saving Time - Saving Lives

An all Wales charity providing a vital service through emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injuries. The service based in Swansea was officially launched in

March 2001. The second based at here at Caernarfon Airport was launched in July 2003.

The service is vital to Wales with its widely scattered population, many in remote and isolated communities far from A&E hospital's. The cost of running this service within Wales is currently £1,500,000 annual and rising. The service depends on public donations with every life saving flight costing an average of £1,000. The Air Ambulance desperately require fund-raising volunteers and committed supporters in all areas.

North Wales Helicopter 100th Mission

The Air Ambulance was scrambled to the aid of an eight-week old baby in Castle Caereinion near Welshpool. The baby, which had been born prematurely, was drowsy and could not be woken by his mother. The Air Ambulance landed at the remote village, and subsequently arrived at the scene by 1.30pm. Mother and baby were then airlifted to the A&E at Wrexham Maelor hospital, a journey that took just 15 minutes.
